We see promising areas of scientific and technological advancements that will lead us to be able to radically extend life. The first area is leveraging healthy leaving and preventive medicine to see if our bodies last long enough to benefit from innovative life extension therapies as they become available. The second area is the use of supplements and drugs. The third area attempts to understand how body cells stop regenerating with age and tries to slow down, stop and reverse the process with the controlled application of biotechnology, including stem cell therapies, genetic engineering and nanotechnology. The last area looks to understand the brain in detail to be able to transfer your mind to a synthetic body that has a significant longer lifespan; brain-machine interface (BMI), microprocessor and robotics developments play a major role here. Finally, the fallback plan is cryonics, in the hopes that we will be able to reanimate cryopreserved brains and bodies in the future when the aforementioned areas have matured.
